LoveReadingX has started a chain for making your own book cover, using a fictional name and random verb for a title. This is mine!:

Spectate by Lily Bell
Somerset grew up in the glittering, glamourous world of beauty pagents. Now, at twelve, she's a contestant of the 'Miss Splendor' worldwide competition, where only society's best dressed beauty queens can enter. She's terrified - and has a reason too: Miss Splendor is one of the worst competitive pagents in the world, and bitchiness doesn't even cut it. So, even on the first day, chills, icy comments and dark stares arise, and it gets worst, until Somerset has to become a bitch herself to survive. But the world can't have too many competitors, and, even when you've got so far, is it the best thing to take a step back before your life is in tatters? Because sometimes to dodge disaster, you've got to give up the limelight and begin to spectate...

Do you like? What do you think? Please comment! Should I actually write this, and would you read it? I'd like to know your views, please, so get typing a comment for me to read and reply. I particulary like Amber's story Swirl, which sounds totally kick-ass and a cool, gripping read. Is mine like that, or opposite? I'm making another one too, which I will post up, cus I love this!

It's been awhile, my fab followers!

That title says it all - I've been away from my dear blog for over a month! I'm sorry to my six sooo totally AMAZING followers, for not being up-to-date with you. I promise to keep you all updated and never not post without notice first, yeah? So you know!
Like I said, it's been ages since I got typing on my blog page. I've had alot on my mind and agenda recently, included finishing school, holiday and a trip to Edinburgh (more on that later!!). So today I realized that I absolutely MUST start blogging again, no.matter.what. So yesss, Kate has come back again, to sit down in the chair with the laptop and type under my bum is glued to the chair permentantly.
I finished school on the 21st July. My last day in Year 7! One year done, four left to get through. It was kinda sad to say bye to my friends, who live far away, for six LONG weeks, but y'know, that's what happens. Of course, while I was saying bye and hugging my close friends, my mum was preparing for six weeks of 'torture'! The type of trouble you get when three girls beg to go swimming or extra cash for clothes or to go and watch Toy Story 3 (which I am on Friday, mawahaha!). On the Saturday after I left school, I went on holiday!!
It was good, even though I got wet and cold. We went to an tiny Scottish island called Arran, where you have to get a ferry across the Irish sea to reach it. We sailed on the smaller ferry (which was huge!) and we arrived in Brodick (the capital, though it's like a crumb compared to London!) around five o'clock. Then we drove five minutes away to the camp site where we were camping for a week! The first night was OK - it was a little windy but it stayed dry.
The first day we went to Brodick Castle, which is pretty big and had big gardens, with these wooden houses in each corner - North, East, South, West. They were made all of wood with the ceiling and walls covered in pine cones in decorations. There's only one left now. They were built by a Duke for his German wife - very romantic! These are some pics!

the ceiling made of pine cones!

the summerhouse- made of wood entirely!

They are beautiful in real life. I also went inside the castle and did a quiz and that in each room. We ate lunch out but I can't remember where, and then went home again to the camp site!
The second day we went to a couple of shops, a big pottery house full of lovely little potter things, and then on a long walk. It was cool and rained a little afterwards, but I didn't mind cus I was snug and warm in my tent with a book!
On the third day it changed and rained, the wind was sharp and I thought it might thunder. We still went on a walk though - this one was worse then yesterdays and completely upwards, all rocks and slippery grass and streams. It took us almost three hours (including toilet stops and lunch break!) to get there and another back - I was exausted!
The next day we went to a place called Locranza, which is like a windy Blackpool. We went to a distillery where they make whisky and my parents tried some, then had dinner there and drove round the entire island. (it took us almost an hour - it is REALLY small!)
The day after that (don't worry, this is the last day!) we went to the brewery, where they make beer this time, and my parentals bought some. I had dandalion and burdock cordial, which is non-fizzy and drank with sparkling water, and nicer then the original soft drink! Then we went walking AGAIN and back to campsite to pack up. The day after that we left and got home at five o'clock!
It was a cool holiday - we saw LOADS of wildlife. Heirons (a bird with long beak and body like a peacock) and seals and deers and even an adder (poisonous snake! eek!)

the adder!

Thats ONE thing done - onto the next one!

Well, as you may not know, author Cathy Cassidy (amazing Scottish woman who writes killer-cool books and drives a 60s camper - OMG) runs this annual comp to find a friendship thats strong and full of talent, hugs and love. Girls all over the UK and Ireland enter A4 pieces of paper decorated, drawn and picture/sequin/button-glued to display what is their best friend's talent. Gettit? Well, I entered my totally-cool bf Bridget cus she is so musical - a singing/dancing/violin-and-cello-playing teddy bear with curly hair and hilarious sense of humour! I thought she deserved it - and you will never guess what! (Ok - maybe you might!) I AM SHORTLISTED! YAYAYYAYAY! Me and six other bff-loving girls are the six shortlisted entrants and on the 17th August (two weeks today) we're all going to Edinburgh for the festival and awards ceremony straight after where the final winner and 5 runners up will get their prizes! I'm super excited and there will be (I promise!) a post with pictures the day after or so.

Last bit of news - I'm gonna start a book blog since I adore books, and would love it if my followers would follow that blog too. I'll will appreiciate any advice and tips too, they will help me out with that blog and this one! Thanks to my six seriously gorgeouz followers for putting up with my blog absence! :)

Love, your blogging laughing-her-socks-off friend,

Kate x

Lalalalala - another quickie post, maybe?

Heehee. I'm feeling chirpy today. Had a good day. Had my mum's childhood 1980s-high-school-mania-in-legwarmers-with-Cliff-Richard-on-the-radio-oh-he-is-such-a-fittie friend Melanie and her 10-year-old son Nathan over this morning until 2pm. Nathan is pretty cool, for a boy. And Melanie is nice. Just thin. You can see her bones and veins in her arms = Ewwww!
Then went to see my grandma and grandad in Clitheroe. Grab an atlas and check out the English North-West page! Or don't. Yeah, so spent an hour and a half with them, eating homemade orange lollies and screaming when the demented flower sprayed me with ice-cold water. It is some pink flower with a pipe inside it so water sprays everywhere, wets the plants and you! I want one, but unless my mum will fork out a trip to Germany to get one from the corner shop, it looks like I'll have to make do with trips to Clitheroe (plus we have no garden so...)
Came back and went on my bike with Bridget, played tig at the park, came home for pizza and two pink ice buns (me = total pig!!) and then went back on my bike down to see my friends Lucinda and Katy. We filled water ballons with water from the tap and then had a MEGA water fight! Ace! Then we watched a bit of Britain's Got Talent (this talent show searching for a new star, including a dancing dog, an impressionist and much, much more weird stuff!) and played our own, sillier version with Lucinda (Amanda), me (Piers) , Katy (act), Lucinda's brothers Jack (act) and William (Simon) and Daniel from the top of the road (act). It was cool. Plus I made it home on my bike in a record time of 7 minutes! Yeah!
That was my day. My friend has just got back after being lost in Wales. And I have discovered that on June 19th I'm going to Chester Zoo with school, and on that night the whole world (or most young, female, excited kids!) is gonna take part in a World Record for Guiness World Record Books 2011 (next years!) for 'Largest Worldwide Sleepover in 24 hours'! All you have to do is have a sleepover with all or most of your friends on THE night of June 19th! Simple, plus you get to have fun all night with your best friends! Yay!
Will do all the challenges tomorrow - I'm totally tired and won't manage it tonight! Double hugs, my gorgeouz blogging friends! Big smiles! :)
Kate x

Zzzzz

I'm really tired today! But I'm still posting. I'm gonna stop doing challenges. They are taking too much time to write and too much space on my blog, so I'm gonna save the posts from challenge after challenge and just write about ME and MY LIFE and MY FRIENDS, like a blog is meant to be like!! Thanks to everyone who created them!
It's sports day tomorrow - OMGGGGGGGGG. I hate sports day!!!!!! It ALWAYS rains!! Tomorrow it should be sunny but y'know that the weather man isn't allways right, so I might be doing the relay race in the wind and thundering hail!! NOOOOOO! My form is in 3rd place at the moment, so who knows - are we gonna win or not?? I'll tell you tomorrow!
The rest of today has been spent listening to Lady GaGa (Youtube 'Alejandro' by LGaGa and listen to it - I'm TOTALLY obsessed!!) and complaining about the new uniform cards. Yeah, my school duputy-head Mrs Lancashire has decided to put everyone on cards to monitor their uniform - if you have ANYTHING wrong in your uniform (shirt out, tie down, top button undone, skirt too high...) you get a cross in the box with the teacher's initals. So when your in the building you have to choke to death and melt alive in LOADS of layers of uniform, waiting for break to scruff up and breathe again... UGHH!
My school is having a summer fayre as well on Saturday. I'm helping out in the carpark, with Sophie, James and Lauren - gonna be a total laugh!! There's facepainting, that Chinese art work with folded paper, skateboarding, mountain biking, making your own smoothies by pedalling on a bike to churn the blender, a 'green' Dragons Den, 'I'm a teacher, get me out of here!' (LOL), make your own bags, tree planting, climbing wall the size of the wall, etc. It's gonna be cool. I'll try and put pictures up on here!
Got to go. Will post later. To my leave, I leave you a video of my favourite song EVER (or since this morning, whatevs):

Kate :) x

Thursday 3 June 2010

It's all about the challenges these days, isn't it?

Nope! OK, I have got challenges to do so I will have to post them. But I have other stuff to write about today, too, so I will make sure I won't bore you with la-di-da on challenges today.

Friend Challenge: Something that makes you grumpy
This is hard, this one, isn't it? Probably when one of my friends told another friend that I had told her a secret that was huge and I had to keep to myself, and I didn't tell her, I swear I didn't. but this friend and this other girl who has always really hated me (the feeling is kinda mutual, though) ganged up and said I had to have told her, no one else would. That made me upset.

Dream Challenge: an embaressing dream
Well, if they are embaressing, you keep them to yourself, right? My most embaressing dream is running around a blank room in my knickers, thinking no one was there, and then the walls fell down and everyone saw me! CRINGE!

Song Challenge: a song that makes you happy
A song that makes me happy is 'True Colours', the one Glee did as their own version. It makes me all squishy inside and it is my song that I think of everyone I love and how much I care about them!

THE CHALLENGES ARE DOWN FOR TODAY! YAY! Ok, down to other stuff. I bought a magazine yesterday and got a free book, 'My So-Called Life by Joanna Nolan' which I have starte and think it is fab! A bit of teen book, but not too hard, there is no serious bad language, not that I have not heard before, and I will recommend it to probably everyone 11+. It's great.
I've also written a poem. In my Juicy Writing book, there is an writing exercise that is a poem that you start with the age you are next year and something you might do, and finish with When I am twenty-five, I'll wash the dirt off my knees. I've written one, and because I am so kind (of course! LOL) I am posting it on here for you!

When I am thirteen, I will pull a face in the mirror and giggle.
When I am fourteen, I will be in Year 9 and a clever-clogs.
When I am fifteen, the world will be closer to the sun.
When I am sixteen, I will learn to stop spilling everything.
When I am seventeen, I will write a small book all about my mother.
When I am eighteen, I will sing karaoke in a bar with my best friend.
When I am nineteen, I will get contact lenses and see the world differently.
When I am twenty, I will get glasses again and pierce my belly-button.
When I am twenty-one, I will be an adult and stop relying on my parents.
When I am twenty-two, maybe my mum will learn to stop dancing so silly.
When I am twenty-three, I will go to a school reunion and laugh at those with moustaches.
When I am twenty-four, I'll complain aout how old I'm getting.
When I am twenty-five, I'll wash the dirt off my knees.
WILL YOU?

Do you like it? Hope so! My mum does, though she rections I won't have the guts to pierce my belly-button or do half the things on there in the next thirteen years!
I'm also gonna create a book blog because I love books to bits, they rock! And I want to do my bit and report, review and all that on books. So I will put up a notice and a link when it is done! Hope you will join!
I planned to write more but I have run out of news! Afraid this is my goodbye!

Day 6, Day 3, Day 3

Day 6 of DreamC: Your Dream From Last Night
I know I had a dream last night, but I HONESTLY can't remember it! All I know is that it involved custard - LOL. :)
Day 3 of SongC: A Song That Makes You Happy
A song that makes me happy... 'Upside Down' by Paloma Faith. I dunno why - I just hear the first note and first lyric and I instantly just start bopping up and down and singing along!
Day 3 of FriendshipC: Somethin that makes you Smile
Probably a cheesy, silly joke or cola coming out of their nose or choking on a Jelly Baby or crazy ti-dye lip makeup... my friends make me smile ALL the time!
Just want to say that I am making a logo for my new challenge - it will be posted tomorrow! Thanks for following and for those who are participating!

Day 5, Day 2, Day 2 and random words :)

Day 5 of TheDreamChallenge: Your Favourite Dream!
I've had loads of favourite dreams, but I suppose the one VERY BEST EVER FAVOURITE dream is when I was on the stage in West End London, performing with my superstar singer friend Jenna the song 'Defying Gravity' cus I was in the musical Wicked. Everyone was on their feet, each eye on us two standing in the white spotlight, and at the end they all clapped and some little kids stood on their chairs and squealed and at the end we had to do it again! It was a pretty nice dream cus I have severe stage fright - seriously, if that exists! I can't say a single word to a small crowd without going beetroot!

Day 2 of TheSongChallenge: Your Least Favourite Song!
It has gotta be 'Sexy Chick' by Akon and David Guetta. I HATE THAT SONG!!!!

Day 2 of the 10DayFriendshipChallenge: Something that made you cry!
I never really cry cus my mates are all rays of sunshine. The last time I think I cried was when I left primary school almost a year ago *gulp*. One of my friends who went to another school came up to me and said 'I'm gonna miss you!' and I started crying! It sounds proper soppy but I was close to her and didn't want to say goodbye to her or anyone!

That's the challenges done! Tomorrow I'm going to the cinema to watch a film called Furry Vengance - it looks and sounds really funny! If you haven't heard of it, Google it or go on YouTube and watch the trailer! Finished my Threads 2 book - it is an amazing story but it is best if you read the first one before cus you get it much more if you know what is going on and how Nonie, Jenny, Edie and Crow got there and the background story better then just reading the second one straight away!

I've got to go. I'm really sorry - I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to post more but Mum says I gotta turn the laptop off cus it has been on long enough for one day. I'll post tomorrow if I can (which I probably can) :)

Dream Challenge Day 3+4, the sleepover,my new clothes, new challenge and my OWN challenge (overall, a LONG post!)

K, I am warning you: this is a big of a long post! I've got a lot-ish to tell you, and I am trying constantly not to bore my gorgeous readers. So I have warned you!
K, so. The Dream Challenge. I've got two days to report:
Something you dreamed about, then it happened: Day 3 (yesterday's)
I have little ones, sometimes I wake up from a big dream and then dream a small dream when I get back to sleep. Such as, last week, I dreamt it would be sunny and the school canteen would sell ice lollies and Yr7 would be allowed on the field to sunbathe (even though there is no chance I'm gonna lose my milk-bottle skin for a nice summery tan!). So, I went to school the day after and: we went outside for P.E. cus it was proper hot, the canteen at lunch were selling orange, lime and grape fruity ices, and Yr7 and Yr8 were given the spare 20 mins that Yr11 (who practicaly own the field) have on the field, cus they were all in study classes for GCSE's!
Your favourite dream: Day 4 (today's)
Now, this is HARD! I have a dozen and one fave dreams! I suppose the best EVER dream is the one when me and all of my friends got trapped in a big department store (a Mall, to non-British people) and had endless amounts of money so we could do ANYTHING and buy ANYTHING we wanted!

That's that done. Now, the sleepover. Yeah, so I went to my friend Brit's sleepover for her 12th birthday. There was me, Lucy, Jenna, Bridget and, of course, Brit all sleeping over in her front room - Jenna on the long sofa, Bridget with the vast armchair and big footrest, and the other three on the sofa bed on the floor. We had crazy makeovers (involving 'professional' bruised eye-makeup, pale pink lippy and dark foundation faces) and walked around the estate in jeans, coats and our pyjamas, pulling each other on skateboards with multicoloured tennis racquets. We went on Brit's Wii* and eat doughnuts, Me To You birthday cake, Quavers*, Wotsits*. We also stayed up until past 2 o'clock, on Facebook and dancing to (VERY loud - the poor neighbours!) music, and in the morning we woke up with moustaches on our faces in grey eyeliner!

Heehee. It was pretty fun! A good sleepover, one of the best I've been to. My new clothes were bought a couple of hours before I arrived. I went to the Trafford Centre in Manchester, which is HUGE and full of SHOPS! It's totally totally FAB! Anyway, I went with my mum, dad, sisters and grandma, and had a ham-and-pineapple pizza at Pizza Time. Then, I bought a copy of Beads, Boys and Bangles, by Sophia Bennett, which is the second in the Threads series, my new favourite set of books. My dad, as my reward for doing well in my tests, also bought a new outfit from Tammy at Bhs. A pair of navy-blue jeggings (jean leggings - the new teen trend), a light pink and white and black tartan top, and a navy-blue denim jacket - here are the pictures:

my new jacket!

the jeggings!

the material of my new top!

The New Challenge I have decided to do is The 30 Day Song Challenge, which Mizz Ali does and so is many others! Each day I have to write a song based on that day's catagory! Easy! Day 1 is 'Your Favourite Song'. My Favourite Song is Fight For This Love by Cheryl Cole, because I can know all the lyrics and it is really easy to make up dances to, plus it is catchy and you can copy it into a acoustic or rock or remix version or change it so Alvin + The Chipmunks are singing it!

MY NEW CHALLENGE, the one I have created, is... (drumroll! Dun dun dun!) THE 10 DAY FRIENDSHIP CHALLENGE! It is celebrating friendship by sharing something your friend(s) have done accourding to this guide:

DAY 1: Something that made you laugh DAY 2: Something that made you cry DAY 3: Something that made you smile DAY 4: Something that made you grumpy DAY 5: Something that offended you DAY 6: Something that made you the best of friends DAY 7: Something that made you happy DAY 8: Something that made you irritated DAY 9: Something you will treasure forever DAY 10: The reason(s) why you are friends

I will post the logo to go on your sidebar in my next post, cus I have to go now and I think this is enough to stop you getting bored if you aren't bored already. Sorry if I have bored you!

The Dream Challenge!

Yeah, so Mizz Ali, my faithful and gorgeous reader, has started a challenge. For 15 days, the blogger has to post a dream they had everyday, like 'Scariest Dream' or 'Best Dream' or (the last one that sounds, to me, the best) 'The Dream I Wish I Had'. I thought it sound amazing to do so I've posted the logo on the sidebar so Mizz Ali knows I'm taking part with her, Amber and many others. All that is left to do is to start the challenge: No. 1 is A recurring Dream, so here is my most recurring dream to date...

Day 1: 'A recurring Dream'
You know those retro 1950's ice cream parlours, with high chairs, waitresses in rollar-skates, high-cut glasses filled with ice cream and fruit and frothy milkshakes? I dream that I'm inside one on a cliff, with a couple of friends, and the place is barely full. A waitress with dyed pink plaits and stripy red tights comes and asks us if we are ready to order. I ask for a banana smoothie, but the waitress's forehead wrinkles and steam starts coming out of her ears. She drags me out of the parlour by ponytail (ouch!) and chucks me on the floor and rolls me on the floor, until I'm pushed down and down and down the cliff into a giant sea of creamy banana milkshake, sinking deep in the pale yellow liquid, no scream coming out of my mouth. My eyes shut then, and I continue to float around, drowning in the milkshake...

Yeah, I know it's kinda weird, but that is my most recurring dream. I dream it at no particular time, just randomly. So, yeah. The next one is 'Your worst Nightmare'. Mmm. Looking forward to that one, then.

Thanks to Mizz Ali for making the challenge, and also to Mizz for reading - you are the most gorgeous reader and I couldn't ask for a better person to be following and commenting on every post. You are the best!!

Back again!

I am at this very second in time, watching The Simpsons, typing on my dad's laptop, and reading an article on Teen Beauty Padgents in BLISS Mag. What are you all doing?

I love that question - what you up to? I get asked it every time I go on Facebook, by my close friends or mates in my school set or form, even my auntie or cousin. Usually, I type back 'nm u?' (slang fbook talk for NOT MUCH YOU? if you haven't catched on yet) or 'nout wuu2?' (slang fbook talk for NOTHING WHAT YOU UP TO?), but if I'm in that mood, I'll write 'watching TV' 'reading a mag' 'nothin in perticular' 'homework - yawn!'.

Most people just spare the details I enjoy putting in. My friend loves to write long lists of people she loves to pieces - I get a ton of updates with my name in, saying how much she loves me or how crazy I am or that my latest fad is totally weird - it gets annoying. All true - I am kinda different to most almost-teen girls: my skirt isn't that high, I only apply lipgloss if I see my crush (which isn't often, my friends aren't keen), and I like English lessons. But I am a almost-teen girl, because I read teen mags like I might die if I didn't, Glee and Eastenders and Gossip Girl are my fave TV shows, and I adore New Look, Miss Sporty mascara and hairbands from Claire's Accessories. See?

Certain things just make me tick that no one else is a big fan of my age: the Nationwide advert with the two men from Little Britain dressed as 'young ladies', the special Google logos they make on special days like Pakman's birthday or the day Peter Pan was published. Even yellow cars make me giggle! OK, so I get funny looks for doing some outrageous dare involving green lipstick and £2, but if I like it, I'll pull it off. No matter if I get a uniform detention or called a 'freak' on the way.

Just realized how much I'd wrote - it is a pretty long post for me! Am going to leave it here now, but that does definetly not mean it'll be ten days before my next! In advance, I'm at a sleepover on Sunday and Monday morning so I won't be posting those days.

Until the next post,my lovely bloggettes,

Kate xx

Tuesday 25 May 2010

Phew!

I've been busy! 10 days of endless 'Kate!Kate!Kate', 'What?' (me), 'Oh,nothing! All sorted!' - grrr!
So I promise you more updates on this blog for this day, hour, minute, second. Cross my heart and hope to die and stick two needles in each eye. Pinky swear. Piggie swear (invented by my friend Jenna who ADORES pigs - feel free to use it).
Sunday's car boot was pretty good, but boring. We made over £60 for old junk we don't need - how cool is that? The thing about car boot sales that makes me actually want to get up at all hours to stand in the wind and freeze into a human iceberg is just watching people - it just never fails to amuse me, watching people walk by, some in turbans, some in ripped jeans (not designed to be like that by some wacky designer), faded The Beatles tees, sari's the colour of the ocean or the sun or moss. I look out for the one odd family that always passes: dyed mohawks, piercings, feather boas and womens high heels 10 size the size of the 8-year-old's feet. I know, I know, I sound pretty strange - but everyone does it at one point!
So yeah, I ate a dozen bags of foam prawns and liquorice torpeedos, froze my legs stiff, bought a vintage 1940s silver handbag for two quid and yawned until my lips were permantly stretched in an 'o' shape.
The next Sunday, I slept in til God knows, went out with my friends, ate more foam prawns (can't get enough!). The day after (or yesterday) I did my History, Maths and English exams in school, was forced to watch my friend snog her boyfriend Joe (disgusting) and nicked another friends ice lolly until she started screaming and trying to yank my ponytail.
Today I did my Geography exam, which was easy as pie, and made a fruit salad in Food Tec. (or Home Ec., whichever you wanna call it) out of kiwi, strawberries, orange, apple and grapes. I did a listening French test, too, and have probably got the lowest mark in the class. It was hard, seriously hard.
So you are now up to date with me, now. I hope. You haven't stopped reading, have you? GOD NO I'M NOT BORING YOU AM I????
Hope I'm not. Really do.
Until tomorrow, I guess (and I WILL post, of there is anything to post of)
Kate x

Saturday 15 May 2010

Sooo Sorry it's been awhile!

I am sooooo sorry I've not been posting, guys! I've got my VERY IMPORTANT Yr7 exams in 2 weeks and have had to give up posting time to revise. An extra apologie to Amber Kirk, for not doing my TDF review - things are hectic for me at the moment, so I hope you understand, and I'll email you on time next week.
So - where to start? I never really know what to start these posts with. I'm doing a car boot tomorrow. It's at Clitheroe, and they do one every Sunday. It's always busy. People arrive there really early, 4 or 5am, to get good spots to set up their stalls. I have to help out loading the car with boxes today, and get myself some new school shoes, today. And wake up at 5:30am tomorrow. Ouch. I don't know how me, Mum, Davina and Wendy (my mum's friends) are going to manage it without falling asleep!
What else? My friends have all abandoned me! They've gone to Whitehoe in Burnley for three nights with school, on a maths trips - doing mining, mountain biking, quizzes, midnight walks, that sort of thing. I forgot to give my slip in on time, so I've not gone with them, otherwise I won't be posting this right now. Apparently some of them are in trouble for playing a couple of naughty practical jokes on the boys...
Instead of doing wordsearches in trees, I've been on Polyvore. Which is an awesome website that you make templates with clothes, makeup and co. and it's AMAZING! I would upload a couple of my designs, but I'm having problems uploading them - I'll get round it and give you notice when I have done.
Other little things? I'm saving up for a pair of white canvas trainers with black hearts, that are on one of the Polyvore pictures. Oh, if you want to join Polyvore, then click here: http://www.polyvore.co.uk/

I guess that's it. I'll post again tomorrow (I mean it this time!)

Quick Fire post!

This is a bit of a quick post. Just been searching Blogger at a couple of favourite blogs - and stumbled on one on The Beaucoup Review, to win Angel Cake by Cathy Cassidy. How great! Cathy Cassidy is the best female author around, and writes GREAT books! I can't recommend her more, and have just nominated her for Queen of Teen 2010 awards! As for the book competition, thanks to Ria O'Grady, the writer of The Beaucoup Review, for having the comp!
I said this was a quick fire post, didn't I? Only because if I write much more I might puke on the laptop and get a MEGA shout off my dad. I'm sick, if you had not cracked it. Hope none of you are reading this and feeling a bit funny. If so, get well soon!

Exam talk, BeBe Vox + TDF!

Yeah, I know, a week isn't that long without blogging - unless you're the blogger! Exam talk is all the teachers talk, think and probably breathe at the moment! One week in late May (this month) we (year7) have to sit exams in maths, english, science, geography, history, art, RE and god knows what else! My maths teacher says I have to go on such a website, english teach. says another, science, etc - in the end, my laptop might explode! LOL. :)

We had a new singer in school on Thursday. She's called BeBe Vox. Everyone pretty much loves her! She's amazing - she performed a hip-hop version of 'Fight For This Love' by Cheryl Cole, and my friend Jenna said it was better then the original song! Then she sang 2 more songs she had wrote herself: 'She Got It Bad' and 'All This Time'. All This Time is featuring some dude called Ad-Apt, and is being REALEASED. As a single. In the charts. I thought the first song, She Got It Bad, should be realeased - but 'All This Time' is instead: they are both fab, so what's the difference which song goes public?

TDF - The Daily Fashionista. THE online magazine full of fashion and beauty. And I'm writing for it! I'm a fashion reviewer, with Ria O'Grady, and, obviously, I review fashion and makeup. Also in the team are Amber, the Manager, Rachel, the Co Manager, Jean, the Fashion Scout - and we're looking for more! Check it out now, at http://the-daily-fashionista.blogspot.com/

Oh, and I won a book! On Chicklish, the book blog, they held a competition to win a copy of Juicy Writing by Brigrid Lowry, full of inspirations and tips for young writers, and I WON A COPY!!! I never ever win anything, not ever, so this was like, the best thing ever! LOL. I major overracted when I read the email, but still: it was pretty exciting for me! Amber Kirk, writer of Let's Call It A Journey and Manager to TDF, won a copy too.

Got to Go, now. Enjoy the rest of the weekend, and of course, the next week!

That's about it. All there is to know about me! Well, course there is other things, but those are the interesting bits. Today I went to school (public, I'm not homeschooled, but mind you, Scarlett by Cathy Cassidy makes it sound fun) and raced a wooden, elastic-band-powered boat down a drainpipe filled with water! Mrs Litherland had a brainwave and told us each to compose a boat of recycled stuff to race down a drainpipe. I know - weird.
It is my friends birthday today - happy birthday Sophie!
OMG. Just received an email from Amber (aka. writer of Lets Call It A Journey)! I'm the new Fashion Reviewer of The Daily Fashionista! YIPPIE! A job I might just be good at! Hope you lot check that website out - it is really amazing. Honest, NO LIE. Cross my heart, hope to die, stick a needle in my eye (not really :))

LOVEloveLoVe

I LOVE my friends. They do my head in with their obsessive crushes, lipgloss-addictions and copied homework, but I still love you all. Even when you yell the secret I just told you to all of the school year. Ta for that.
I love my family. Mum, Dad, Faith and Alice. The guinea pigs, Snuggles and Nibbles and the four babies, for being so unbelieveably cute! Oh, and the two gorgeous dogs. Tiger, for being the softest dog who licks your face without making you annoyed, and Tilly, who never stays tidy and is the ultimate swamp dog.
I LoVe everyone reading this, fellow bloggers. You all rock, and even though I've never met any of you/live 1000s of miles away/in a different country/in a different world - I know you ROCK. Thanks for reading this, and the previous post, or even checking out Smile.

Love is only a chapter in a guy's heart,
But in a girl's it's the whole book.
When you love someone only you can tell,
But when your IN love with someone,
Everyone can tell.
It takes no time to fall in love,
But it takes you years to know what love is.

Long time no see!

Wow... my own blog! Feeling the pressure to write a good first entry. And that those words are entirely the wrong ones to start off with... oh, well. My name is Kate. Oh, and you're reading the first nerveracking post on Smile. Hope you're not bored already. I have my fingers crossed severely!
I suppose I better tell you what I've been doing today. I've been learning averages. I know! Mean and Mode and Median and Range... why is there four different ways of finding the average? Don't get it, and my gut feeling tells me you won't either. These maths teachers expect us to be childhood geniuses, mini (or not-so-mini) Albert Einstein's. Maybe the person next to me - but in 10 years time I'm not gonna be coaching Year Sevens algebra, dodging paper planes and getting ticked off by kids ten years younger...
Had a science test too, with my lovely teacher Mrs Litherland. She's got bouncy red hair and posh brown specs, and a total tree-hugger (in a blazer). I think she's fab! The test was to draw a poster of the chemical and physical changes in a burning candle. Charlotte, one of best friends, got a after-school detention for talking, and in history next lesson we copied out a worksheet about modestries and monks who were naughty and wore comfy clothes instead of rough sacks.
Entertaining.
Not really. I'm interested in anything mischieveous or fun that any of you lot have been doing, though. Leave a comment about it, and I'll mension it in my next post. I hope you haven't stopped reading! I'm not boring you, am I? If not, give me a bell (or a comment, whichever suits you!) and I'll reply as soon as I can.
Lots of love, far-away hugs, dreams, wishes and buckets of gummy bears!

P.S. I'd like to say that Let's Call It A Journey, the blog written by Amber, 11, is amazing and I think you should go over there and check it out. It really is brilliant! x
